Internship- Laboratory Services

Schedule: Flexible Morning and Afternoon shifts: 4-8 hours, Monday-Friday

Position Locations:

Burnsville, MN

Detroit Lakes, MN

Position Responsibilities

• Laboratory Assistant - Sample Receipt

Unpack coolers, restock with proper sampling supplies, return coolers via Speedee Delivery, pH check of samples, distribute samples to analysts or storage locations, restock general supply of sample bottles.

• Laboratory Assistant - Solids Analysis

Assist primary analyst with various steps throughout analytical process; filtering samples, and weighing filters using an analytical balance, recording data into laboratory information management system.

• Laboratory Assistant - Chlorophyll a Analysis

Filtration of samples, mechanical grinding of samples, analysis of samples using a spectrophotometer, glassware preparation, sample disposal.

Position requirements

• Candidate should have classes in a science related field, preferably Chemistry

• Internship is available April-October

• Must be able to stand for 8 hours and lift 10-40 pounds

• Self-motivated and able to function in a fast-paced environment

Additional skills that aren’t required, but increase candidate’s value

• Previous laboratory experience

Exemption Status:

• Non-exempt/ Hourly

Pay Range:

$15-$18 /hour
